My name is Marc Elkins and I am running for Mayor of Leawood. I strongly believe that to be an effective leader, one must first have served his community at the grass roots level. For Nearly 20 years I have served the families of Leawood as a Scoutmaster, Director of the Leawood Community Foundation and Chairman of the Leawood Planning Commission. I believe that this proven experience and commitment to our community places me in a unique position to lead our City in its vision of growing and living with distinction. EXPERIENCE
For the last twenty years I have been serving our community in scouting, through the Leawood Community Foundation, and as Chairman of the Leawood Planning Commission. This experience within our City gives me a unique understanding of the way City government should and does work.

I am a proven and successful servant leader in the City of Leawood, professionally and philanthropically. That success is the result of a collaborative approach to all issues by which I listen carefully to the perspectives of all interested parties and build a consensus approach by finding common ground and compromise where we differ.
SERVICE
To be a successful leader, one must first serve. This service has informed my actions as a leader. But more importantly, it has given me the opportunity to give back to the community that I love. The ultimate reward is the feeling of giving and contributing and not the recognition that sometimes comes with that service.
